The Cumberland Plateau Planning District Commission, founded in 1968, is one of 21 planning districts in the Commonwealth of Virginia established by the Virginia Area Development Act to promote regional cooperation.

The CPPDC is Planning District 2, and it includes the counties of Buchanan, Dickenson, Russell and Tazewell.
